Island of Kindness — Kagan, Uzbekistan
Island of Kindness is a small private animal shelter located in Kagan, Bukhara region, Uzbekistan.
The shelter was created to help stray and abandoned dogs — those who were injured, left behind, or had no chance to survive on the streets.
Today, the shelter is home to more than 150 dogs. Each of them has its own story — many were rescued from the streets, from dangerous situations, or after being mistreated.
The shelter is not funded by the government. It exists only thanks to one person’s dedication and the support of caring people.
Every day, we provide food, treatment, and basic care for all the animals. Despite limited resources, we continue to help as many as we can.
Our goal is simple — to give these dogs a chance to live and find a loving home.
This video offers a walkthrough of Island of Kindness, showing the shelter grounds, the dogs who live there, and the daily care that keeps them safe. Island of Kindness is always open for the dogs in our care. For the safety of our animals and volunteers, we cannot accept drop-in visits. All visits must be coordinated in advance with Oksana by phone or through our Telegram channel.
Please note: we are currently full and unable to accept more dogs at this time.
